Chandrajit P. Raut, MD, MSc, is a professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School, interim chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and surgery director of the Center for Sarcoma and Bone Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A graduate of Stanford University (BA/BS), University of Oxford (MSc), and Harvard Medical School (MD), he completed his general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and surgical oncology fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Raut specializes in the multidisciplinary care of patients with soft tissue sarcoma.  He has a multi-PI R01 grant evaluating an innovative drug-eluting film to be placed in the surgical bed to reduce tumor local recurrence rates.  He is co-investigator on an international phase III randomized clinical trial evaluating the use of preoperative radiation therapy for retroperitoneal sarcomas, co-principal investigator (PI) on a national phase II clinic trial evaluating 5 years of adjuvant imatinib for primary GIST, and a member of the NIH/NCI The Cancer Genome Atlas Sarcoma Working Group.  He has authored over 180 papers and over 30 book chapters.

Dr. Raut is the program director of the Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care Surgical Oncology Fellowship.  He serves as section editor for sarcoma in the journals Cancer and Annals of Surgical Oncology, associate editor for the journal Sarcoma, and an Editorial Board member for the journal ACS Case Reports in Surgery

Associate Surgeon, Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Brigham and Women’s Hospital

Dr. Patel is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) in Washington, DC. She completed residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA followed by a Fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Most recently, Dr. Patel was in private practice at ENT and Allergy Associates in Brooklyn, NY. As a member of the Voice and Swallowing Center, she helped bring advanced laryngeal care to this community.

Dr. Patel is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Her clinical interests include management of voice and swallowing disorders, minimally invasive surgical techniques and in-office laryngeal procedures. Additionally, her research interests include vocal fold paralysis, the aging larynx and chronic dysphagia.
