Nicholas L. Berlin, MD, MPH, MS
Associate Surgeon, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Berlin joins us from the University of Michigan, where he recently completed his integrated plastic surgery training and fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery. Originally from Colorado, Dr. Berlin attended college at the University of Notre Dame and medical school at the University of Colorado. He holds an MPH in statistics and epidemiology from Yale University and an MS in health and health care research from the University of Michigan. While completing his training in Ann Arbor, he was also a National Clinician Scholar at the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation and a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Healthcare Outcomes and Policy.
Dr. Berlin brings additional expertise in health services and health policy research to the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His research interests include health care spending, payment reform and financial toxicity. He has published in leading surgery, cancer and health policy journals and looks forward to building a collaborative health services research agenda to improve delivery of high-quality affordable surgical care.
His primary clinical areas of interest include breast reconstruction, gender affirming surgery, general microsurgical reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery.
